After graduating from West Point and serving five years as an Army officer, I was fortunate to have started my tech. career with a Fortune 500 company (Texas Instruments), a $500 Million company (Wyse Technology), two Boulder based Venture Capital firms and eight startups/turnarounds as CEO. I am delighted to bring all of my experience and large network to help other entrepreneurs build their strategy and reach their goals.
Experienced Resource - Focused Strategy assists companies in clearly identifying strategies and market potential as well as helping build the right teams, improve traction, attract funding and accelerate overall growth. As a senior executive, with experience in positions within Fortune 500 corporations, mid-size companies and multiple startups, I have built a large network of funding resources and mentors that can help accelerate your growth. I have worked with fellow innovative leaders in diverse industries including Cannabis, Blockchain, AI, Cryptocurrency, SaaS, Medical Instrumentation, CPG, Semiconductor and Advanced Materials. I have enjoyed a track record of success in leading very talented people who have accomplished quite amazing feats when properly motivated and endowed with the appropriate tools and resources.
First Steps - Most often, a consulting engagement with Focused Strategy begins with a four hour "deep dive" session that helps the founder and the team clearly identify the direction of the company, the competitive landscape, the additional team members that need to be brought on, etc.
Providing real results - Resulting outcomes from a "deep dive" session usually includes an eighteen month schedule of crucial tasks, a process for identifying and tracking key performance indicators (KPI's), a "Rosetta Stone" document that coordinates and focuses all of the functions in the company on the tasks, a "risk reduction" chart that shows past accomplishments regarding risk reduction as well as future items yet to be finished, and an eighteen month Pro Forma.
